ArabNet 2011 Shift Digital Summit
ArabNet is doubling in size this year to become a 4-day Digital Summit. The ArabNet 2011 Shift Digital Summit will consist of a Developer Day, featuring technical case studies for engineers, a two-day Forum for business leaders and entrepreneurs, and a Community Day, aimed at raising awareness about web entrepreneurship in the community. More than 80 speakers will address social and mobile web-related issues: the mobile application landscape, streaming media, payment challenges and solutions, understanding discussion forums, tech/mobile for good, social commerce, social and mobile gaming, social media & marketing, trends in online media buying, Arab media consumption trends, digital content and others.
The summit will also include ArabNet’s annual competitions: the Ideathon and Startup Demo. The Ideathon aims at turning bright ideas into functional products. It runs as a series of rapid-fire back-to-back presentations, where selected entrepreneurs are given 2 minutes, each, to demonstrate that their idea is innovative and has strong business potential. The top three pitches win cash prizes while good ideas will get the attention of investors, incubators, and developers.
The Startup Demo is to support early-stage startups and help them grow their business. Each selected startup entrepreneur is given 5 minutes on stage to showcase their product and convince the audience and judges of its strong market potential. The startups also be given exhibition space during the conference, where they can network with investors and media to build the relationships they need to help them grow.
Whether you think you have a great idea for a web company or you have a startup that needs a jump-start, here is your chance! Registration for the ArabNet Ideathon and Startup Demo. Register before March 8th to benefit from early bird registration discounts!
